Inheritance: Blow on Hookers or Invest in Your Dreams?

I recently got a little inheritance from my grandmother who passed away.  It wasn't a fortune, but it got me to thinking.  Shouldn't we do something with that money to honor her?  Her mom had succeeded in business, so maybe could we invest in some kind of business?  Grandma liked to travel, so wouldn't that be fun to spend part of it on?  So, coincidentally, I just purchased a book called, "No More Mondays" by Dan Miller, which is all about finding your ideal career.  As soon as I began to read the first page, I stopped, ran and got a highlighter, and came back to it, knowing I would need one, and boy was I right!  He began the book by asking pertinent questions such as: what are you good at?  What have you always excelled in?  What job would you do for free?  Man, my brain was racing.  I started jotting down stuff like: working with horses, teaching children, helping needy kids...etc.  Then, I realized that I also like to buy stuff and sell stuff.  So, it came to me... furniture buying/reselling.  I also like to write, so I decided that could be done on-the-side.  Then, one day when I have enough money, I'll build and rent stables, having children come over and learn about and ride my horses.  I had a plan!  Well, I began putting ideas onto paper, and then into action.  The first things were leading to second things.  Then, one day at work, it literally cost me money to be at my job.  I was in line to get a trailer for hauling, just in time for our big sale on the weekend, but couldn't go pick it up because I was at work.  With that trailer, our haul could have doubled and so could our money.  So, I put in my notice (mainly because I had someone to cover for me and my stubborn boss's assistant wouldn't let it happen, when I get people to cover for others all the time.  This really put me in a bind knowing that on no scheduled day would I ever be able to call in if something in my business needed me).  Well, my new venture was and is a lot of work like: finding the furniture, discussing prices, gathering it (seems like we pick something up every day), storing it, taking it with us to sell at a flea market until our showroom is up-and-running.  But, I don't even feel all the hours.  Though, it's almost guaranteed that if I worked this many hours at another 'job', I'd be moaning and complaining.  It's that many hours!  But, it's joy when you're doing something you enjoy!  And the coolest part is that my group of friends are showing up one-by-one to help.  I had never pictured that part.  Today, there were four of us.  We laughed and got sunburnt for ten hours or so, doing heavy lifting, haggling with customers, meeting our flea market neighbors...etc.  One of my friends even brought an appliance his mom was done with and made over a hundred dollar profit.  I am making more money than my old job, which wasn't hard, and enjoying it. 
Worried about insurance?  I just researched companies online and found some of the same coverage I was getting, and am even paying less, now! 
So be encouraged!  And may you prosper in whatever good you put your hands to!
 
Postscript: Thank You Grandma!  I wish it were you!  I love and miss you and wish I could call you, right now, and tell you what I'm doing with your gift.  You're awesome, always!

Home Fitness Workout For Beginners


Thought I would post this video with a handful of basic exercises you can do at home if you are a beginner. Great starter home fitness workout. Simply complete all the body weight exercises for 30 seconds each without resting.

After you completed all the exercises rest for 1 minute and repeat 1-2x.

Be sure to warm up before completing this circuit workout.

A great beginner fat loss workout you can do right at home that will start you on your way to successful weight loss.

Do a home fitness workout such as this 3-4 times per week in addition to your HIIT and fun cardio!
